Spine Conditions & Procedures

Herniated Discs of the Spine
Our surgeons have minimally invasive surgery solutions for
herniated discs.

Our neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons have access to high resolution imaging systems as well as the tools and technology that pinpoint and precisely target spine problem areas. We have three dedicated neuro operating suites, one of which is equipped specifically for spine procedures.

Many Spine Problems Have a Minimally Invasive Solution

Minimally Invasive Surgery, also known as MIS, decreases the length of the incision, recovery time and allows you to return to a normal life and the things you enjoy that much sooner. Some spine fractures, spine tumors and herniated disk surgeries are outpatient procedures and other surgeries simply requires a short hospital observation stay. Your doctor can help you determine if you and your condition qualify for a minimally invasive solution.

We Diagnose and Treat all types
of spine conditions including...

  • Spine fractures
  • Back Pain
  • Spine curvatures (Scoliosis)
  • Herniated discs
  • Decreased back mobility
  • Sports injuries, reconditioning
    and strengthening
  • Trilogy System for Spine Tumors
    The Trilogy™ System uses
    radiation to precisely target
    spine tumors without
    damaging surrounding nerves
    and tissues.

Removing Spine Tumors While Preserving Your Quality of Life

Neurosurgeons at CJW have the advanced technology to diagnose and treat spine tumors effectively while preserving more quality of life than ever before. Depending on the type of tumor and other factors,a spine tumor can be radiated or surgically removed.

Our technology arsenal includes the Trilogy for radiation treatments, and a dedicated Neuro Operating Room designed for spine tumor removal. The spinal navigational system allows the neurosurgeon greater accuracy and more complete tumor removal, while at the same time letting the surgeon know where his instruments are in relation to the tumor and critical structures. This significantly lowers risks to the spinal column.

Balloon Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive
treatment in  which orthopaedic balloons are
used to raise a collapsed vertebra to return
    them to the correct position.

A 3-D Digital Bi-plane unit offers high resolution navigation for treating spine Fractures

Spine fractures are treated by neurosurgeons and/or interventional radiologists and are largely the result of osteoporosis-- although some fractures are trauma-induced. The technology that we have at CJW is instrumental in our efforts to provide patients with the best opportunity for a positive outcome.

Our digital bi-plane unit enables an interventional radiologist to obtain higher quality images and more favorable results utilizing less radiation.
Other units can cause longer treatment times and more x-ray exposure with the potential for lower quality images. What isn't seen can effect technique and outcome.

    Sports Injuries & Back Pain

    Compression Fracture of the Spine

Our physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, our sports medicine physicians and our physical therapy departments take a hands-on approach to treatment. We have options for back pain management that are surgical and non surgical.

And when it comes to any back problem a patient might have, we take it seriously because it seriously effects the lives of our patients. It is always our focus to preserve or restore as much mobility and quality of life as we can with the least amount of downtime whenever possible.
